BEHIND THE VOICE
Born and raised in Southern California, Soza is internationally known for performing the role of Maria in West Side Story. She toured through 10 countries and 17 cities in world-class venues such as the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Italy, Sadler’s Wells Theater in London's West End, and the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Germany. After tour, Soza reprised the role of Maria with San Diego Musical Theater, and most recently in concert with Battle Creek Symphony in Michigan. Future engagements include: Maria in West Side Story - Billings, Montana March 2020; and Sarah Brown in Guys & Dolls - Battle Creek, Michigan November 2020.
Soza has over a decade of experience training and performing in the arts. She studied classical voice in New York and Los Angeles, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting & Performance Pedagogy from California State University, Long Beach.
Currently, Soza is an Assistant Professor, Head of Voice & Speech at Bethel Conservatory of the Arts. Passionate about holistic training for actors and singers, Soza's technique focuses on unblocking the artist to perform with greater joy and freedom.
